Music Teacher

Responsibilities

  • Bachelor of Music degree or equivalent
  • A PGCE or equivalent teaching qualification will be an advantage
  • Experience in teaching class music from Grades 3 – 7
  • The ability to play the piano up to a Grade 7 level according to one of the IEB accredited examination boards
  • The ability to play a second instrument will be an advantage
  • Experience and the ability to teach Music Theory according to the Gr 1 – 6 TCL & ABRSM syllabi
  • Experience and ability in conducting choirs, school orchestras and instrumental ensembles
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills, and experience in organising music events and productions
  • The willingness to perform with ensemble groups within the music department at special occasions
  • The ability to accompany chapel worship on the piano or organ
  • The ability and willingness to incorporate technology in the classroom and for administrative tasks
  • Previous experience teaching in boys’ schools will be an advantage
  • An awareness of the nature of the school and willingness to commit to its all-round ethos,
