A FULL-TIME OR PART-TIME INSTRUMENTAL AND SUBJECT MUSIC TEACHER
SPECIALISING IN BRASS INSTRUMENTS
A vacancy exists for an accomplished musician and teacher with passion, creativity and vision, to be a member of a large and vibrant music department.
THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE WILL:

THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE WILL:
- have at least five years’ experience teaching brass (trumpet, French horn, trombone, euphonium and tuba) students in Junior and Senior schools, with a proven record of success in Trinity, ABRSM, Unisa or Rock school examinations up to at least Grade 8 level.
- be SACE registered and hold at least a BMus degree in music, preferably having specialised in brass instruments.
- have at least five years’ experience teaching IEB subject music from Grades 8 – 12.
- have excellent organisational and administrative skills.
- be passionate about maintaining and developing a diverse instrumental education culture.
- have experience coaching and conducting ensembles and orchestras.
- be willing to be actively involved in school music performances, productions and events.
- be fully computer literate with the ability to incorporate technology in lessons and to arrange music using one of the music notation software programmes.
- have an understanding of and a willingness to commit to growing the unique teaching partnership between The Diocesan School for Girls and St Andrew’s College.
- demonstrate willingness to support the Christian ethos of the school.
- share the values and vision of The Diocesan School for Girls and St Andrew’s College around transformation, diversity and belonging.
