Woodridge College & Preparatory School is an ISASA registered, co-education Christian based school situated on a magnificent 365-acre multi-adventure eco-estate between Gqeberha and Jeffreys Bay in the Eastern Cape.
The School’s mission is to “provide a distinctive experience in a unique, natural environment, where all belong and are empowered to realise their full potential” and has the following position available.
Responsibilities
- Relevant music degree B. Mus. A PGCE is highly advantageous;
- Piano specialist (highly advantageous), accomplished accompanist;
- Experience gained in a high school (College) Music department;
- The following would be advantageous:
- Experience within an Arts & Culture Department;
- Previous experience gained in an IEB school.
- Additional tutelage in other instruments is beneficial, not essential;
- Knowledgeable and intellectually inquisitive with the drive and passion for developing and caring for children;
- Ability to adapt to change;
- An open and creative outlook to education;
- Computer literate, the ability to adapt and guide online learning;
- Self-motivated team player with strong interpersonal and communication skills (oral and written);
- Excellent organisational and time management skills;
- Exceptional administration skills and a high level of attention to detail;
- Ability to promote and embrace diversity and inclusion;
- Willingness and commitment to contribute to the School extracurricular, sports and outdoor education programmes;
- SACE registered with the requisite clearance certificates.
Duties and Responsibilities shall include, but are not limited to:
- Teaching music (Grade 8 to Grade 12);
- Taking individual music lessons (in particular piano);
- Being involved with the School Ensembles;
- Collaborating with the Preparatory School Music Department to ensure continuity from the Preparatory School to the College;
- Communicating effectively and developing relationships at all levels with pupils, staff and parents;
- Understanding, identifying and contributing to the ethos and values of Woodridge;
- Organising events to showcase the Music Department;
