Description
A leading agrochemical manufacturer is seeking an experienced Technical Advisor to support the various Crops Advisors and Regional Sales Managers in promoting in-house products to customers in the small grains sector as well as to provide technical advice and training on in-house products and services across all product portfolios.
Duties & Responsibilities
Minimum requirements for the role:
- Must have minimum a B.Agric or B.Sc Agric degree
- Must possess either an AVCASA or BASOS accreditation and be prepared to work towards acquiring both accreditations within a reasonable period of time
- At least 5 years post-graduate experience in the agricultural industry in agrochemicals is essential
- Technical and agrochemical knowledge for the crops in the Southern Cape region, including small grains will be required
- Knowledge of .NET would be advantageous
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Developing spray program guidelines on in-house products for the Crop Advisors which integrate agrochemical and nutritional products.
- Providing registered recommendations on specific area related crops and understanding crop residues guidelines.
- Distributing spray programs on in-house products per crop for use by the Crop Advisors.
- Organising training workshops for Crop Advisors on in-house products per crop integrating the full in-house range with Third Party products as required.
- Addressing customer complaints promptly.
- Interacting with key influencers in the industry to promote in-house products and grow the existing client base.
- Acting on leads for new products or new programmes based on the specifics of a crop or region.
- Training Crop Advisors to engage effectively with customers.
- Ensuring set budget targets are achieved.
- Setting up budget per product and Crop Advisor and communicate progress and results on a monthly basis.
- Performing crop inspections during the season to find solutions for problems found and make recommendations.
- Performing relevant in-house product trials on specific crops in collaboration with the Portfolio Managers.
- Liaising with Portfolio Managers to identify the strategy for the area.
- Maintaining and monitoring all safety regulations as per company policy in areas of responsibility.
