Description
The University of Johannesburg is actively recruiting for a Senior Lecturer in the department of Accountancy. The Department of Accountancy is a nationally responsive leader in Accounting education.
Responsibilities:
The incumbent will be expected to:
- Participate and lead relevant research stream in the Office of the ETDP SETA and UJ Chair in 4IR skills.
- Conduct research and regularly publish in accredited academic journals.
- Participate in research activities of the College/School/Department.
- Participate in the student's supervision activities of the College/School/Department.
- Perform lecturing duties as required in the College/School/Department.
- Participate in the development of Short Learning Programs as required by the College/School/Department.
- Participate in community engagement activities of the College/School/Department.
- Perform departmental and other administrative academic duties as required.
- Attend and participate in the College/School/Department committees.
Profile
- A School/discipline-specific Doctor's Degree (NQF 10 level) or;
- A Chartered Accountant- CA (SA), Chartered Management Accountant (CMA) with a School/discipline-specific Masters degree (NQF 9 level).
- High Level Understanding of the 4th Industrial Revolution and its wider implications.
- High Level Understanding of the Education, Training and Development Sector in South Africa.

- Preference will be given to candidates with a relevant Master's degree or doctorate in Accounting or Financial Management (or a related field).
- Practical experience in the relevant subject disciplines.
- Previous lecturing experience in the relevant subject disciplines.
- Proven ability to conduct research.
- Research experience in relevant subject disciplines.
- Teaching experience in relevant subject disciplines.
- An excellent record of relevant academic publications.
- Experience in supervising postgraduate students.
