Description
We are currently seeking an experienced Senior Financial Accountant CA (SA) for a Maternity Replacement (7 Months), for our client, based in Cape Town.
This position is responsible for the preparation of financial statements and reports, the management of a complete set of accounts and reporting on accounting systems and exercises considerable judgement in planning, installing, revising, and maintaining accounting procedures and the preparation of statements and reports.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Preparation of correct financial reports.
- Inform management regarding issues which affect cash flow, expenses and balances
- Execute usual accounting functions, which include operating the general ledger system and month-end close work.
- Examine financial records, collect information, prepare reports and make recommendations.
- Managing the Use and Sales Tax accounting process.
- Managing the Fixed Asset procedure, policy and process.
- Study the revenues trends and expenses of the Company so that they are appropriately recorded.
Desired Experience & Qualification
- B Com, CIMA, B.Compt, a qualified Accountant or Similar qualification
- 5 - 10 years experience in Financial Accounting
- Sound experience of budgeting, accounting, forecasting and resource allocation in a devolved organisation preferably within the public sector
- Proven ability to manage, train, coach, develop and motivate staff
- Project monitoring
- Reporting and financial management in accordance with varied compliance obligations
- Financial and contractual matters in a public sector environment desirable
Package & Remuneration
Contract: 7 Months
Salary: Market Related
