Duties & Responsibilities

Experience & Qualifications:

  • IT or Business qualification
  • At least 6 - 8-year experience of:
    • Solid business acumen skills and SME
    • Stakeholder management between business and solutions
    • Technology terms and capabilities
    • Business process management
    • Structured systems analysis
    • Ability to manage scope and cost of a deliverable
    • Full software life cycle, with solid Agile experience
  • At least 6 years domain knowledge in Insurance (Short Term and Life)

Responsibilities and work output:

  • Collaborate with stakeholders through individual engagements, business meetings, Agile sessions or JAD sessions, to elicit requirements
  • Applying proper analysis in documenting requirements into business process maps, business requirement definitions and business requirements specifications, in-line with the business architecture framework and strategy around people, process and technology, with a solid understanding of Agile

Compile functional specifications and use cases for developers using the business requirements provided by the business analysts, in collaboration with architects. Stakeholders are, but not limited to:

  • Business Solutions Architect
  • Peers
  • Architects
  • Senior Developers

Determine, design and facilitate the correct implemented solution for the stakeholder needs, by working with all relevant stakeholders and subject matter experts across all business functions, always putting the client first. Stakeholders are, but not limited to:

  • Customers
  • Business Owners
  • Partners or Internal Services
  • Business Solutions Architects
  • Peers
  • Systems Architects
  • Developers
  • Test Analysts
  • Other business units’ representatives
  • Need to represent information in formats that all stakeholders can understand, based on the SDLC followed

 

Identify, investigate and analyse problems faced by business on the current implemented solutions. These would cover:

  • Defining automation, enhancements or fixes of processes where needed
  • Operational readiness and support
  • Create and maintain required repositories including traceability and attribute matrices using Enterprise Architect tools.
  • Thorough understanding of the existing and in progress implemented systems/technical capabilities and solutions that runs the business in its current state, with a primary focus on:
  • Re-usable components
  • Custom components
  • Areas of Improvement
  • Integration capabilities between components
  • Identify re-usable opportunities or components in new or enhancement designs and ensure that we do not develop custom solutions if we should not
  • A mindset of Continuous Improvement of the current system and components
  • Providing training and user manuals to users of a new system
