Description

Our client, a well-established Financial Institution, based in Pietermaritzburg, is looking to fill the position of Regional Head.

Purpose:

To formulate and execute tactical strategy and associated delivery plans, ensuring business integration and operational implementation through the achievement of business objectives. Responsible for managing both the revenue and cost elements of the business income statement. Grow market share within the region by retaining/penetrating customer base with a view of increasing profitability.

Client Services

  • Develop and ensure implementation of practices which builds service delivery excellence.
  • Monitor and coach behaviours that ensure a service culture which builds rewarding relationships, proposes innovations and allows others to provide exceptional client service.
  • Build and maintain relationships for the purposes of reciprocally managing expectations, sharing knowledge and diverse insights, and creating buy-in.
  • Engage in cross-functional relationships in order to obtain and to provide work support.
  • Contribute to sustaining a competitive edge through external networking, benchmarking and representation on related forums.

Process

  • Implement and provide input into the development of governance and compliance procedures and processes within area of accountability and identify risks.
  • Monitor changes in legislation, regulations, initiatives and relevant industry practices.
  • Ensure drafting and implementation of appropriate interventions.
  • Maintain expert knowledge on relevant legislative amendments, industry best practices and FNB’s internal compliance procedures and requirements.
  • Plan and execute campaigns successfully and on schedule.
  • Set standards and benchmarks for measuring successful campaign execution.
  • Monitor costs / benefits per campaign/channel.
  • Maintain operational accountability for all campaign execution.
  • Maintain expert knowledge on relevant legislative amendments, industry best practices and provide of advice to relevant stakeholders.
  • Maintain up to date knowledge of local and global trends.
  • Provide thought leadership and expertise.
  • Translate functional sales strategy into integrated tactical product, channel or delivery plans.
  • Ensure that sales strategies are aligned across the customer value proposition.
  • Implement and manage organisation capabilities that enhance business performance and profitability.
  • Achieve net profit growth for the business.
  • Track, control and influence sales activities with the specific aim to increase sales efficiencies of the team.
  • Monitor cost activities and collection of revenue and measure cost to income against set targets and put measures in place to address any discrepancies.
  • Execute defined business strategy by translating it into the business operations.
  • Communicate 'top down' policy modification, objective achievement progress and critical success factors to impacted stakeholders.
  • Ensure the development and implementation of multiple practices in alignment with operational policy and procedural frameworks Identify interconnected problems, determine its impact and use to develop best fit alternatives; driving best practice solutions.
  • Be aware of, and responsive to, local conditions Influence the development of appropriate organisational structures, capacity and delivery systems.
  • Use the insights gained through integrated business reports to measure success and realign tactical strategy implementation objectives appropriately.
  • Translate strategies into actionable goals and execute relevant projects /initiatives aligned to strategic objectives with specific performance measures and control systems to track progress.
  • Plan for handling work outputs, pull together interdependent activities and specify priorities, standards and procedures to ensure tactical excellence.
  • Analyse competitor information gathered and ensure active monitoring of market trends and influencers.

People

  • Manage people by executing management responsibilities and create an environment that encourages employee growth and performance excellence.
  • Actively coach team through providing advice about subject matter, solutions, principles and processes, and personal progression with the aim to improve performance.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Grade 12 Senior Certificate
  • Relevant Degree
  • Relevant Post Graduate in Accounting (preferred)
  • 5 to 8 years’ experience in a similar environment, of which 2 to 3 years ideally at management level.
  • Area Manager/Segment head experience would be an advantage
  • Relevant Product, Sales, and credit experience
  • Can be required to represent the business as a Key Individual for FAIS
