The Intern – Renewable Energy role is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious individual to develop impact investment skills in the renewable energy sector. There will be significant scope to gain exposure in including; Financial Modelling, Business Planning, Deal Negotiation, Report writing, Market Analysis, and Due Diligence.

The ideal candidate will be entrepreneurial with strong organisational skills and have a genuine interest in working in the development sector.

Specific Role

  • Supporting the REACT team in all deal-related tasks, including but not limited to competition management, due diligence, and deal structuring assignments.
  • Financial modelling and preparation of appropriate investment documentation
  • Assisting the REACT team in the investment process, including following up with potential investees, and gathering requirement documents and information.
    Contribute to review of Technical and Financial reports from Investees.
  • Writing and assisting in delivering reports on new business opportunities.
  • Conducting industry research and summarizing it in reports for internal and external use.
  • Conducting country-specific risk analysis and market studies and summarising this in reports.
  • Support the preparation of presentations and other visual materials.
  • Inputting, and keeping up to date the REACT database and records.
  • Undertake other assignments as required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Business or development-related subject, Master’s degree is an added advantage.
  • Graduated within the last one year.
  • Proven record of outstanding achievement in academic and extracurricular activities.
  • A clearly defined interest in Investment Banking/Impact Investing.
  • Strong quantitative skills focused on financial analysis, accounting and financial theory.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • A high level of attention to detail, rigorous, self-motivated, team player.

  • Demonstrated ability to quickly adapt to new situations
  • A strong sense of personal integrity and teamwork.
  • A high level of energy and a keen desire to learn new concepts.
  • Knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, PowerPoint and Excel is required. Knowledge in managing data using excel or other tools to collate and present data effectively is a distinct plus.
