FlySafair requires the services of a QC Inspector that will report to the Manager: QA and be based in Cape Town.  The successful candidate will be required to perform product inspections during routine and non-routine maintenance, investigate nonconforming parts, inspect ATLR’s and check work-packs for accuracy and completeness, and take part in check survey meetings.

Duties & Responsibilities

 Perform quality control inspections on aircraft interior & parts and tooling used for aircraft maintenance;

Prepare aircrafts for C of A inspections as a project manager;

Conduct quality audits on Safair aircraft and facilities;

Conduct quality audits on Safair external service providers;

QC product oversight on Safair A/C both domestically and internationally;

Perform investigations on defective parts removed from A/C or received from vendors;

Oversight on calibratable test equipment and tools;

Assist in writing of procedures relating to quality within the organization;

Evaluate problems and make recommendations;

Other duties as assigned by the Manager QA;

Compile monthly reports on QA activities in the organization;

Issue and control AMO certification approvals;

Assist with Chairing of meetings;

Attend all relevant meetings including but not limited to the Maintenance meeting, Safety Action Group Meetings, Compliance Meetings, Operations Meetings, Aircraft Survey meetings, etc;

Member of Maintenance Review Group;

Compile and amend Manual of Exposition and Quality Manual;

Assist and recommend amendments to company manuals, procedures and Work Instructions;

Assist with Authorizing and issuing Company Authorizations for Technical and Flight Engineers;

Carry out random inspections during daily turnarounds with emphasis on procedures and maintenance instructions;

Carry out walk around inspections of all standby aircraft;

During ‘A’ and higher checks the inspectors will work closely with the maintenance staff ensuring the staff are aware of the procedures to be followed regarding the processes the inspector will follow to ensure compliance with all instructions and tasks to be carried out. Random request to inspect the areas opened for inspection prior to close up. Also look at inspections carried out as well as adjustments made;

Scrutinizing all paperwork for correctness and completion;

Certify the complete work pack on completion prior to the CRS being signed during normal working hours

Desired Experience & Qualification

Grade 12 (or equivalent) with mathematics and science;

Quality Auditor Certificate/Certificate or Diploma in Quality Management;

Auditor OJT Training;

Root Cause Analysis;

Must be willing to travel both domestically and internationally;

Will be required to work in the evenings as most maintenance in the product is done after hours;

Must not have a criminal record (essential for access to the ramp “ACSA requirements”);

Must have product knowledge preferably licensed or have been licensed on L-382 and/or Boeing 737’s;

The person must have the understanding of SACAA regulations especially Part 21, 43, 64, 66, 91, 121, 140, 145 and 187 with their related technical standard;

Must be computer literate with experience working on a Safety Management and Quality Management System;

5 years’ experience in Aviation
