Duties & Responsibilities
- Daily production planning
- Ensure that all production units run at the installed capacity to increase productivity and profitability
- Production is reconciled to stock issued and packed.
- Optimise packing machine efficiency and monitor waste
- Achieving all the technical value drivers as set out by the company.
- Ensure consistent product quality
- Plan production by machine to ensure all products scheduled are produced
- To ensure all product packed complies with customer specifications
- Ensure availability of raw materials
- Correct packing material to comply with production plan
- Product mixing with approved product specs.
- Ensure daily stock control and minimizing shortages
- Record and control stock usage and losses.
- Optimize usage of mill plant capacity.
- Ensure all scales are calibrated according to service frequencies
- Track and control maintenance needs and schedules
- Manage packing material stock
Necessary competencies:
- Good communication skills
- Good interpersonal skills
- Bi-lingual
- Problem solving
- Operate accurately
Desired Experience & Qualification
- Computer literate
- Grade 12 and higher education
- Food safety or similar experience (HACCP, ISO, FSSC)
- Minimum 10 years’ experience as production manager
- Fumigation and grading experience advantageous
- OHS experience advantageous
- Previous supervisory training completed
- Strong admin skills
