Brescia House School is an Independent Catholic day school for girls situated in the heart of Bryanston. Members

Responsibilities

  • Relevant teaching qualification from a recognised institution with a minimum of 5
    years teaching and learning experience.
  • Proof of registration with SACE.
  • Experience in a management role, leading a sport portfolio.
  • Dealing with and managing sports teachers and coaches.
  • A relevant coaching qualification and experience, umpiring qualifications, and an
    excellent all-round knowledge of developmental and competitive sport.
  • Proven record of innovation, commitment, and professionalism within sports and
    sports related education.
  • The willingness to embrace the rapid change in education, teaching & learning, and
    sports coaching within education.
  • A high level of computer literacy and technological skills.
  • Effective organisational, administrative skills and strategic thinking.
  • The ability to manage pressure, deadlines, and the expectations of all stakeholders.

The successful candidate will be required to:

  • Contribute as an active and innovative member of the teaching and academic staff.
  • Teach Physical Education in the foundation and intermediate phase.
  • Manage all aspects of the school sports curriculum and actively engage in the
    curriculum offering.
  • Display experience and an interest specifically in hockey, swimming, and tennis.
  • Select, train, and monitor coaches, and coach and umpire as appropriate.

Vital to this role is to provide each pupil with the opportunity to participate in a variety of
activities, catering for all levels of ability and enthusiasm. This approach must sustain and
encourage a long-term interest in physical activity and a healthy lifestyle.

In addition, critical to this role will be the development and implementation of a sports
program for the Primary School, through the linking of the development skills between the
foundation and intermediate phase, through to the High School. Part of this will also include
actively raising the profile of all sports within the pupil and parent community.
