We are seeking an innovative, creative, dedicated, and energetic individual with the necessary skills and experience to join our dynamic staff team with immediate effect, in the following position:

PRE-PR

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities and duties include the following:

  • The primary purpose is to assist the class teacher.
  • Assist with medical care when they hurt themselves.
  • Assist boys with daily routines – snack time, toilet issues etc.
  • Accompany the boys to Phys Ed, Music, isiXhosa, Library and stay with them for the duration of each lesson.
  • Support the class teacher in assisting, encouraging and guiding boys at the activity tables.
  • Assist the class teacher in supporting weaker boys.
  • Communicate or report findings relating to boys’ behaviour or incidents that require further attention to the teacher.
  • Assist in packing away resources at the end of the day.
  • Assist with tidying and cleaning up after activities.
  • Assist parents and teachers on outings.
  • Assist with stock taking.
  • Duty as per roster of the Aftercare Department.
  • Skills and Knowledge:

    • It will be an advantage have at least three years’ experience in working with children.

    • Listening – gives attention to parents, boys, and staff, and shows an interest in their well-being.

    • Ethics and Integrity – possesses a strong set of core values and beliefs consistent with social, ethical, and organisational principles.

    Qualities:

    • Ability to work efficiently and be very organised.
    • Collaborative with an understanding of consensus decision-making.
    • Must be nurturing and enjoy working with children.
