St Benedict’s is an Independent Catholic School, which seeks to provide a holistic education for boys through full participation in spiritual, academic, sporting, creative and cultural activities. The Board of Governors invites applications for the following post in the College

Responsibilities

Requirements:

  • Candidates must possess a tertiary qualification in Accounting or Bookkeeping, ideally a BCom Degree in Accounting; other tertiary qualifications will be considered if the candidate is able to demonstrate appropriate workplace experience
  • Have at least 10 years’ accounting or similar bookkeeping experience
  • Experience in a school environment would be advantageous
  • Competency and experience in the Sage Pastel Accounting package is essential
  • Have demonstrable computer skills (MS Excel, Word and Google Suite)

Responsibilities:

  • Assisting the Executive Head and Business Manager with the day-to-day financial and strategic operations of the school
  • Conducting the daily operational bookkeeping requirements of the school accounts
  • Compiling and reporting monthly management accounts so that month-end processes and reporting requirements are effectively and timeously met
  • Assisting with the budgeting processes, developing and managing financial controls and annual reviews
  • Administering salary matters and staff benefits (pension fund and medical aid)
  • Assisting with the preparation of the annual financial statements and with the management of the annual audit process
  • Preparing and submission of VAT payments
