Our Client requires the service of a suitably qualified / experienced Operations Manager with Retail / Operations Management experience within the Foods / FMCG sector.
POSITION: Permanent
COMMENCEMENT: As soon as possible
Role reports into: Divisional / Deputy Divisional Manager
Duties & Responsibilities
PURPOSE OF POSITION:
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a group of stores through owners / managers by providing support and guidance to ensure all goals and objectives set for the region are met.
JOB OBJECTIVES:
- Maximise the profits of the region.
- Monitor and ensure the consistent implementation of company policy, standards, procedures and systems within the region.
- Grow market share within the region.
- Manage risk within the region.
**Comprehensive responsibilities will be discussed with short-listed candidates who meet with the required criteria for this position.
This role requires someone who is able to travel extensively and sleep out as and when required. Valid SA Driver’s license required and clean criminal / credit record.
Desired Experience & Qualification
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- Matric
- Degree / Diploma in Retail Management / Operations Management or relevant
- Minimum of 3 years’ branch management experience within the retail foods sector.
- Experience in operations management capacity in FMCG / Food sector advantageous.
- Microsoft Excel proficiency a must – Experience working with V-Lookups, formulas, etc.
- Good business acumen
- Knowledge of financial and business principles (e.g. GP, growth, etc.)
- Knowledge of FMCG principles
- Knowledge of merchandising standards and principles
- Knowledge of various store departments
- IR Knowledge
- Resource and People Management Skills
- Customer Relations skills
- Strong Problem-solving Skills.
- A resilient individual with excellent interpersonal and clear communication skills
- Fluent in English and Afrikaans (verbal and written)
- Proven experience in budget management
- Solid report writing skills.
- Valid Driver’s License with own vehicle
- Willing to travel extensively to meet with operational requirements.
