Description
With the introduction of the International Middle Year Programme (MYP) catering for the specific needs of middle school students, Redhill is looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Afrikaans teacher with experience teaching Grade 6 to 9 students. We are looking for a teacher to promote Afrikaans as a living, vibrant language with a focus on conversational Afrikaans.

Role and Responsibilities
As a Middle School Afrikaans teacher, you will play a pivotal role in nurturing a love for language and fostering a deep appreciation for Afrikaans culture. Your responsibilities will include

- Teaching engaging Afrikaans lessons to Grade 6 to 9 students, encouraging their language fluency and communication skills.
- Integrating Afrikaans into the MYP programme, making it relevant and applicable to students’ lives.
- Creating a positive and inclusive classroom environment that empowers students to embrace and celebrate the language.
- Designing interactive lessons that cater to diverse learning styles and promote active participation.
- Collaborating with colleagues to align language learning with other subjects and promote interdisciplinary connections.
- Encouraging students to explore and embrace Afrikaans literature, and contemporary culture.
- Monitoring students’ progress and providing constructive feedback to support their language development.
- Actively participating in professional development opportunities to stay updated with the latest teaching methodologies.
