Description
MHR is urgently looking for Emergency Centre Doctors to work locum shifts at several Mediclinic hospitals in the Northern Suburbs of Cape Town. Join our dynamic team today and become part of one of the largest medical networks in South Africa.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Provides quality and safe clinical care in the emergency centre
- Adheres to and supports the nursing staff in the application of triage in the emergency centre
- Follows a process of consultation, investigation, referral and treatment
- Adheres to Emergency Centre policies and procedures
- Adheres to Health and Safety Act requirements
- Record keeping complies with company policies and procedures
- Maintains a safe working environment according to health and safety standards
Desired Experience & Qualification
- Current registration with HPCSA as a medical practitioner in independent practice
- MBBCh/MBChB qualification
- Completed a two-year internship and community service officer year
- One year clinical experience in an Emergency Centre (Post community service year) will be advantageous
- At least one valid “First Tier” course (ATLS, ACLS, PALS/APLS) with the agreement that a second will be completed within 6 months of registration with MHR
- The following courses serve as a strong recommendation: Advanced Airway Management / Basic Ultrasound / Emergency Procedures and Sedation
- Valid indemnity insurance
- Knowledge of the statutory requirements and regulations around practice in an emergency centre is required, such as the Child Health Care Act and the Mental Health Care Act
- The ability to delegate and perform tasks according to scope of practice
