Description
An exciting new role has become available for a junior logistics manager to join a progressive food processing Company based close to Malmesbury in the Western Cape. The primary purpose of the position will be to strategically and effectively lead and direct the Logistics function.
Duties & Responsibilities
Requirements:
- Diploma / Degree in Logistics or similar.
- Minimum of 2 years’ post qualification experience in a logistics role.
- Own reliable transport and valid license.
- Grade 12 / matric.
Duties and Responsibilities:
In-House Despatch function
- Management of in-house Despatch team
- Allocation of Tasks
Performance evaluation
- Efficient work procedures within Despatch function
- Set-up appropriate kpi’s
Distribution of Product Range
- Management of Outsourced Distribution Service Provider
- Day to Day review of performance
- Adherence to SLA
- Management of documentation, notably POD’s
Crate Management
- Management of outsourced service provider
- Day to Day review of performance
- Adherence to SLA
Management of documentation
- Management of Chep Account
- Account validation and sign-off
- Pallets on rental confirmation
- Crate management at customers
- Accurate movements of crates supplied and returned
- Monthly stock counts to validate
- Crate / Pallet Availability for Production and/or Despatch
- Full understanding of requirements
- Negotiations with relevant suppliers
- Pallet repairs where feasible
Stock Management
- Management of stock at external facilities
- Control of Stock movements in and out
- Monthly stock-take
In-house camera monitoring
- Daily monitoring
- Daily monitoring in conjunction with external service provider
- Reporting of any suspect behaviours
