Cedarwood School is an inclusive, remedial Preparatory School (Grade R – Grade 6) and College (Grade 7 – 12) in the congenial country setting of Glenferness – north of Lonehill – for children who have mild to moderate support needs which prevent them from coping adequately in a mainstream school environment. Job Responsibilities include but may not be limited to:

  • Setting up workstations with computers and necessary peripheral devices
  • Installing and configuring appropriate software and functions according to specifications
  • Routine maintenance of hardware and networks in co-operation with IT Team
  • Testing and configuring software and maintain and repair hardware and peripheral devices.
  • Managing and maintaining all IT Equipment and Asset Register
    • Email configuration and management
    • Network and local Printer Support
    • Daily technical Support: Managing and providing technical assistance and support to staff, teachers, and students. This involves troubleshooting hardware and software problems, resolving technical issues, and offering guidance on the use of technology resources.
    • Setting up microphones, screens, projectors, speakers, sound mixers, and video cameras
    • Troubleshooting AV equipment and ensuring events run smoothly.
    • Operating sound and visual equipment during live events
    • Whilst every effort has been made to explain the main duties and responsibilities of the post, each individual responsibility undertaken may not be identified. The duties outlined above are not intended as a restrictive list and may be extended or altered to include other tasks that are commensurate with the role as directed by Senior Management.

    Education, Experience & Skills:

    • Matric
    • A+, N+ or similar qualification
    • Microsoft’s Active Directory, Azure, Local File Server, Google’s GSuite and JAMF/ MDM, Apple School Manager, Ed-Admin will be an advantage
    • Experience with Windows 7, 8,10 &11, Office 2007 – Office 365, Printing, Scanning and ESET Anti-Virus
    • Knowledge of workstation hardware and software and associated peripherals
    • Experience with formatting and reloading of Desktops and Laptops
    • Outstanding diagnostic, problem-solving and analytical skills
    • Experience with remote support applications and techniques (e.g. VPN,RDP, TeamViewer and Anydesk)
    • Knowledge of LAN/WAN networks, TCP/IP protocols and network technologies
    • Accreditation or training from Microsoft, Google, Apple, Jamf, Ed-Admin School Administration System
