MAIN PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
As Business Analyst you will efficiently provide documentation support to the Commercial Applications & Integrations (CA&I) in Global IT. Globally the EDI department consists of more than 300 employees. Our new Business Analyst will join a smaller team of ten placed in Solutions Intake EDI team in Global IT. You will independently perform various analytical tasks, based on guidance and advice from the senior team lead. Training will be provided and collaboration with EDI specialists will be available. Still, the Business Analyst will have the freedom and possibility to apply academic knowledge to commercial practice and make animpact. We emphasize collaboration, trust, and efficient delivery.
JOB-RELATED REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum of 5 years' experience as a Systems/Business Analyst.
- Preferably,experience from a larger IT organization.
- Knowledge of IT service delivery and the software development lifecycle.
- Knowledge of freight forwarding or contract logistics.
- Great communication and people skills as well as good analytical skills.
- Knowledge of XML, XSD and general schema development concepts in depth.
- Good understanding of EDI standards (EDIFACT, ANSI X.12)
- Flair for both technology and business.
- Fluentin English.
TERTIARY QUALIFICATION(S)
- Matric (essential)
- National diploma or equivalent, M.Sc - Master of Computer Science orB.Sc (Bachelor of Science)
COMPUTER LITERACY
- Intermediate MS Office
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
As a business analyst within the EDI team, your prime responsibilities will involve the following tasks which are mainly driven by our constant growing client list, we do:
- Work in collaboration with geographically distributed teams across the globe.
- Drive smaller technical projects or investigations, involving business and customer.
- Write technical documentation.
- Build mapping specification using GFEG tool.
- Assist business with user acceptance testing.
- Help to prepare deployment documentation
