Our clients is  looking for an exceptional individual to join their team to manage the logistics and warehouse strategic operations

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Help with day-to-day queries from users and PIT teams
  • Strategically manage 3rd parties and transportation companies. Regularly evaluate performance and relations.
  • Inventory management and control, making sure that physical inventory and system inventory is matching in all company locations incl. 3rd party locations and maintain inventory accuracy to agreed levels by ensuring all warehouses operate within the required guidelines. 
  • Support internal and external audits of inventory accuracy, cycle count program, and or operational procedures.
  • Develop and maintain clear measurements and targets for all operational processes with regard to lead-time, quality, productivity, and associated activities.
  • Initiate and maintain regular meetings with all relevant Supply Chain parties.
  • Setting challenging goals and defining strategies to achieve these goals. Ensure the department is actively supporting these goals.
  • Incorporate continuous improvement as an integral part of all processes in order to meet/exceed customer expectations.
  • Quickly and properly address security and/or safety issues.
  • Extracts data and generates reports which will assist in performance tracking and decision making.
  • Cross-functional collaboration internally and externally. 
  • Establish close and effective working relationships with internal and external management and stakeholders ensuring information and requirements are communicated in a timely manner and that the department is integrated and respected throughout the organisation.
  • Provide excellent customer service for both internal and external customers, by developing and maintaining customer focus in all processes and behaviour. Ensure that problems are solved with a positive result for customer satisfaction and are communicated to all parties involved.
  • Agile and critical thinking approach to working with internal/external stakeholders
  • Extensive knowledge and hands-on skills related to Inbound, stock management, outbound/order fulfillment, return processes, and effective packaging.

Desired Experience & Qualification

  • Matric essential. 
  • Bachelors Degree in Logistics/Supply Chain  
  • Honours (advantageous) 
  • 7 – 10 years relevant industry experience, including solid experience in the warehouse and the logistics industry
  • Experience in negotiating and managing all commercial agreements. 
  • Knowledge of warehouse automation capabilities
  • Ability to lead change, build high-performing teams, and model high-performance standards.
  • Knowledge of recruitment and selection of all staff.

Valid SA Driver’s license required and clean criminal / credit record.
