Description
Our client, a leader within the property industry, is looking for a Group Financial Manager to establish the benchmark for Internal Control and Financial reporting within the company.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Maintain a documented system of finance policies and procedures
- Big picture analysis of hedging, forex exposure, local vs offshore investment and classes of assets
- Oversight of EXCO reporting
- Implement consistent accounting policies and maintain internal controls
- Assistance with treasury function
- Assist the Director’s in securing Capital Asset financing
- Monthly review of cost reports for new developments and tenant installations against budgets
- Maintaining the land exposure schedules
- Manage the budgeting process including 2nd review
- Review of all income statements and balance sheets for the group
- Engage in ongoing cost reduction analysis in all areas of the group
- Authorising expenditure in accordance with the parameters set-out in the mandates
- 2nd review of all audit files for the Group
- Drafting Annual Financial Statements
- Review and authorise any changes required by the auditors
- Review of VAT and tax documentation prior to submission to SARS
- Final review of provisional tax payments
Desired Experience & Qualification
Educational Qualifications:
- Chartered Accountant (SA)
- Minimum 5 years post-articles managerial experience
Skills:
- Well-versed with accounting practices, particularly IFRS for SME’s and the tax laws of SA
- Up to date with changes in legislation and committed to continued development
- Highly accurate
- Ability to identify and respond to risks
- Presence of mind & diligence
- Excellent organizational skills
- The ability to learn, adapt quickly, use initiative in proposing solutions to problems
- Analyzing Information and clear presentation of collated information
