Description
A company in Cape Town is looking for a mechanical engineering gradaute.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Operation of the Fay and Grace machine in line with SOP.
- Product quality.
- Achieve production targets.
- Follow safe operating practices when operating machine, by following work instructions.
- Maintain high levels of housekeeping in department and area of work.
- Operate machine to target output and waste levels.
- Participate in problem solving techniques to ensure machine efficiencies.
- Ensure all products are produced to specification with minimal variability, using the Quality Management System.
- Record quality information on prescribed documentations.
- Record production and delay data on prescribed documentation.
- Carries out complex changeovers and set up as per required SOP’s and to the relevant standard and makes ongoing adjustments to optimise machine performance.
- Applies problem-solving techniques to diagnose and correct equipment problems and notifies appropriate person if problem is unresolved.
Desired Experience & Qualification
- National diploma in mechanical engineering, Btech or NQF equivalent.
- In possession of or progress towards a mechanical/setting qualification.
- 2-5 years-experience in a similar role.
- Good learning potential.
- Good attention to detail.
- Able to work quickly and accurately to meet tight production deadlines.
- Good spatial orientation and the ability to see the outcome while working on the detail.
- Willingness to learn and help others to deliver.
- Problem solving and decision-making skills.
- Good hand-eye co-ordination/technical orientation.
