Description

The requirements for this position are:

  • Senior Certificate/Grade 12, with accounting as a subject
  • Bookkeeping Certificate or National Diploma in Financial Accounting or related field advantageous
  • 3-5 years experience in a bookkeeping role (including accounts payables, accounts receivables & general ledger)
  • 3-5 years experience in working with Value Added Tax (VAT) transactions and related reconciliations
  • School experience advantageous
  • Strong computer literacy skills with a sound working knowledge of Microsoft Office and accounting packages
  • Intermediate knowledge of Excel
  • SARS VAT regulations knowledge will be an added advantage
  • Demonstrated time management and customer service skills
  • Strong written and verbal (interpersonal) skills
  • Committing to work within the values, Christian ethos and mission of the College, as well as participating in the broader life of St Stithians College
  • A police clearance, sexual offender’s clearance certificate and a clear credit enquiry

Your talent and positive mental ability, means you can deliver on the following responsibilities:

  • Recording and maintenance of financial transactions, such as accounts payables, accounts receivables, stock, cashbooks, journal entries, VAT and other general ledger transactions. (multiple entities)
  • Recording financial data required to produce Monthly Management Accounts, Financial Statements, and other financial reports for various entities
  • Approval of documentation in e-procurement system and review of payments
  • Organisation and completion of stock takes
  • Completion of monthly reconciliation
  • Stakeholder relationships – interaction with Internal Staff, Auditors, Key Stakeholders
