Description
Our client, based in Sandton, is seeking a Buyer with specific experience in Solar procurement to join their team
Duties & Responsibilities
Main job function
Responsible for ongoing management of the purchasing activity and for ensuring optimal supplier performance and price
Develop and implement these strategies to ensure the function is operating in line with the objectives of the business to add value, mitigate supply chain risk and deliver cost savings
Develop and maintain strategic supplier relationships and manage the development of contracts, contractual relationships and contract management to deliver continuous improvement in delivery of goods and services by the supply base
Ensure to deliver the appropriate support to the business in order for the corporate and business development objectives to be met
Work alongside the senior management team in contributing to overall business objectives
Desired Experience & Qualification
Qualifications
Relevant Tertiary Qualification
Preferably a Fellow or Member of The Chartered Institute Procurement and Supply (CIPS)
Experience/Criteria
Minimum 5 Years’ experience in Solar Procurement
Demonstrable experience of leading a purchasing function with a proven track record in strategic purchasing
Leadership delivering effective purchasing strategies, policies, processes and systems
Must demonstrate that they have good understanding of best practices with regards to Policies
Computer Literate
Management and leadership skills
Communication Skills
Organization Skills
Ability to identify non-conformances as well as opportunities for improvement
Ability to make decisions
Ability to analyse data
Great negotiating skills
Understanding of product life cycle
