Applications are invited for the following post:

BOARDING HOUSE HOUSEMOTHER

Commencing on 12 July 2023 or by mutual arrangement

This significant role is a full-time, live-in position. The successful applicant will report to the Deputy Head of Pastoral Care and will be expected to offer outstanding care and support to adolescent girls, as well as being responsible for the supervision of the general housekeeping of the boarding house. The successful candidate should be of sober habits and be a non-smoker. She should possess a valid driver’s licence and be computer literate. Experience from working in an educational space would be helpful. Accommodation will be offered in a flatlet in the boarding house and would suit a single person or a married couple. Regret no pets.

Responsibilities

Applicants should possess the following qualities:

  • Previous experience of working in a Boarding House and/or in an education environment
  • A love of young people and an authentic desire to provide optimum care and support
  • The ability to be patient, caring and empathetic
  • An understanding of working in a school context and its associated demands
  • Strong organisational skills with good interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Ability to work in a team
  • Skills to relate to, and supervise, adolescent girls
  • Flair to write reports and newsletters
  • Ability to work independently and have a willingness to contribute to a dynamic team
  • Good health, energy, and a positive attitude
  • A professional degree would be an added advantage
