Description

The above position will become available at Bishops Diocesan College with effect from January 2024.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities:

  • Frontline management of the admissions office: face-to-face, telephonic, email
  • Management of admissions processes – entrance examinations, interviews, assessments, liaison with school heads and parents
  • Coordination with Principal regarding assessments, scholarships & bursaries, interviews, place offers
  • Information service to prospective parents on admissions, curriculum & all school matters
  • Capturing and maintenance of school database and applications
  • Ongoing waitlist management
  • Collection of relevant data and pupil information
  • Liaison with Accounts Department on the payment of placement fees and deposits
  • Ongoing communication with prospective parents
  • Liaising with the website content manager regarding updates to admissions details on the website

Other responsibilities:

  • Management of language concession applications for foreign students with WCED
  • Management of study visa processes for international students
  • Capturing of incoming and leaving pupils on Cemis database
  • Secretary of Scholarships & Bursaries committee:
    o preparation of bursary applications for termly meetings;
    o taking meeting notes;
    o preparation and mailing of correspondence to applicants
  • Liaison with key donors

Key competencies:

  • Excellent interpersonal and communications skills, both written and verbal
  • Customer relations experience
  • Excellent administrative skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent computer skills – with specific ability in managing data bases and analysing data
  • Process orientated individual who is constantly looking for efficiencies and opportunities to streamline processes
  • Patience and empathy dealing with prospective parents
  • Committing to working with the values and Christian ethos of the College

Experience and Qualification:

  • Previous school experience is essential
  • Customer relations experience and ability to engage positively with members of the public
  • Experience with databases essential
  • Matric and another suitable qualification

A competitive market related package will be offered to the successful candidate who will be expected to assume duties at the start of January 2024. Mentorship will be given to the successful candidate during the initial period of employment.
