The school is looking to appoint an experienced, full-time Librarian for 2024. Candidates must have a relevant qualification. Responsibilities

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Curate a diverse collection of books, periodicals and digital resources that cater to the varied interests and academic needs of our pupils across all phases.
  • Create an inviting and stimulating library environment that encourages exploration, curiosity and independent learning.
  • Track and keep up to date with current trends i.e.: popular books that might appeal to a young audience and be responsible for the purchase of said books.
  • Collaborate with teachers to support classroom curriculum and provide guidance on integrating literature and research materials into lessons.
  • Develop and implement engaging library programmes, such as book clubs, author visits and literacy events, to promote reading and literacy among pupils.
  • Foster a warm and inclusive atmosphere where pupils feel comfortable seeking assistance, recommendations and guidance for their reading choices.
  • Teach information literacy skills, including research techniques, critical thinking and digital literacy, to equip pupils with essential tools for academic success.
  • Stay current with emerging educational technologies and trends in library science to enhance the library’s offerings and resources.
