A well-known Petrochemical Manufacturing Group requires the above to be responsible for ensuring that the Business has effective operational processes, controls, reporting and people in place to maximise operational efficiency while manage risk and meeting growth objectives.

Duties & Responsibilities

Minimum requirements for the role:

  • Must have a tertiary qualification in either an Engineering or Commercial degree or related is essential.
  • An MBA or MBL is preferred but not essential.
  • Previous experience having worked within a medium to large Chemical or Petrochemical or related manufacturing plant where there is a high level of automation and capital-intensive equipment is essential.
  • Must have experience working for organisations with sophisticated manufacturing and engineering standards.
  • Must have strong knowledge and experience across supply chain, production, maintenance, engineering, risk and SHERQ.
  • Must demonstrate strong leadership experience being able to drive transformation building and empowering the Organisation.
  • Must have a demonstrable track record of success having previous experience growing a business and leading a high-performance Organisation.
  • Must display strong business and commercial acumen.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Will serve as a 16.2 legal appointment for the plant.
  • Chair the MANCO meeting and ensure functional excellence is achieved at EXCO level.
  • Manage and oversee a large lead team of Heads of Departments in line with business objectives as well as site budgets and driving continuous improvement.
  • Influence and guide the Company in terms of strategic intent providing purpose and direction at all times.
  • Manage and drive the operation of the Business, providing leadership and support, ensuring awareness and commitment to the Company’s vision and strategy as well as sustaining the culture of the Company at world benchmark levels.
  • Manage and oversee financial key performance indicators, overseeing finance statutory, tax compliance, and budgeting to ensure Business sustainability.
  • Review financial and non-financial reports to devise solutions and improvements.
  • Manage and lead the Company with regards to all commercial and contractual matters, developing and maintaining good working relationships with Clients and Partners in a professional manner.
  • Provide support to the ongoing implantation of world class manufacturing and plant expansion on new technologies.
  • Strategically leverage network to secure new business opportunities in growth areas.
  • Strategically drive high-quality investing decisions to advance the Business and increase profits.
  • Introduce and roll out best-practice manufacturing and planning systems that drive achievement of the Company’s growth targets and strategies.
  • Develop high quality business execution plans in alignment with short-term and long-term objectives.
  • Manage and oversee that the Quality Management System (QMS) and quality related KPAs in line with Company targets is optimised at all times.
  • Oversee all Operations and Business activities to produce results consistent with overall strategy and mission.
  • Enforce adherence to legal guidelines and in-house policies to maintain the Company’s legality and business ethics.
  • Manage and oversee that Health and Environment (SHE) tools and systems as a corporate governance measure to safeguard reliable and lawful work environments across all plants is upgraded and implemented.

Salary package, including benefits, is highly negotiable depending on experience gained.
