Key purpose is to manage 24/7 availability and maintenance of the Network Infrastructure to support business objectives.

Role sits within the Network team, which is part of IT Infrastructure at the client is shift based with a requirement for providing on-call cover outside of shift hours. 

This role reports into Team Manager Network Operations.

Must have’s:

• Matric and relevant Graduate Education
• CCNA, CCNP Certificate preferred
• Firewall Knowledge
• 5+ years of enterprise network administration
• Routing, switching and firewall experience.
• Experience in PCI environment preferred.

Primary Responsibilities:

• 24 x 7 support for network infrastructure
• Implementing & Management of Local Area network (LAN).
• implementation & Management of Wide Area network (WAN).
• Configuration of Firewalls.
• Proactive monitoring & management of Network infrastructure.
• Availability and Capacity management
• Ensure Network uptime.
• Respond to logged incidents and requests
• Implementation of changes as per change management policy.
• Liaison with 3rd party service centre and engineers as required
• Provide support for service backups
• Take part in the test data restore procedure
• Monitor success rates and implement workarounds/re-runs as required
• Disaster Recovery
• Testing as directed by the DR Coordinator
• Implementation of DR services upon invocation
• Planning of DR strategies
• Systems Performance tuning as required
• Proof of concept and research and development projects
• Review customer requests for service
• Take part in customer due diligence exercises
• Review and report on new products and technologies as required
• Integrate new solutions into current service environment
• Provide backup support for the network team members.
• Create and provide input to the following reports:
• Daily, Weekly & Monthly uptime reports.
• Capacity management reports
• Other team activity reports as requested by the Team Leader.
