PURPOSE OF POSITION:
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced industry professional with strong core technical skills to join and add value to a dedicated and friendly team.
Responsible for actively driving and managing the pre-sales process with customers. The Pre-Sales Engineer must be able to articulate the company’s technology and product portfolio, positioning to both business and technical users.
Primarily engaged in a Presales Engineer role, the manager will provide any technical assistance and guidance during the pre-sales process by identifying customers technical and business requirements, prior to designing a solution, consulting with technical teams about capabilities, and supporting business sales teams, account managers and partners on proposal activities.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Ensuring Sales Targets are met.
- Assist relevant sales teams with technical knowledge, and ensure the technical close in engagements
- The ability to articulate technical and/or business information to relevant internal and external clients
- Develop and deploy a communications strategy that will enable efficient and effective communication protocols from and to internal and external clients to, amongst other outcomes, provide timeous and effective feedback on requests or proposals
- Collaborate with clients to ensure comprehensive and accurate understanding of their requirement and devise effective resolutions through innovative solutions.
- High Calibre presentation skills, to convey solutions/proposals to all client levels
- Ensure Quality Assurance processes and checks are in place for all work outputs
Responsibilities:
- Advanced repairs and inspections of Automation related products and equipment of different kinds at customer site or own premises.
- Responsible to plan, conduct and maintain tools and equipment for service work.
- Deep knowledge of the tasks, tools and procedures associated with providing technical support to the sales team and customers.
- Support the customer’s product/equipment/processes by suggesting possible improvements to more advanced technical solutions and products.
- Take into consideration energy efficiency, environmental impact and maintenance costs when giving customer support.
- Provide advanced technical support and advice to the sales team.
- Ability to produce positive results in sales-client interventions.
- Guide and train colleagues in service methods
- Training and Coaching of Customer end users
Requirements: Qualification and Skill:
- Grade 12 / N3 Technical Qualification / Equivalent Qualification
- Basic Computer literacy
- 5 years relevant Mechanized mining experience: Underground/surface mining, Maintenance of earthmoving equipment in mining
- Experience or Knowledge with Automation systems
- Mechanical, electrical or electronic equipment maintenance competence in some of the following areas: Basic 5 module LHD’s or Trucks with EPEC control systems, Basic electronic systems, Basic LV electric systems, Mechanical equipment, Hydraulic systems, Video display systems, Advanced electrical systems
- Pre Sales Support / Consulting
- Batter -ABB, Siemens work experience
- Valid driver’s license
