Description
My client is based in Ugie- Eastern Cape, they are a manufacturing company who manufacture wood from raw materials in the forest.
Duties & Responsibilities
Recruitment
• Identification of positions to be filled with Line Management
• Co-ordinate interviews and shortlist candidates for all positions
• Co-ordinate the appointment process, appointment letters, etc.
Training
• Assist and advise line managers to identify training and development needs
• Advise and monitor individual development plans for key employees for succession planning
and employment equity candidates
• Draw up site training plans in conjunction with line managers
• Schedule employees and arrange for training
• Keep records of training for the financial year
Employment Equity
• Ensure EE meetings are held quarterly
• Ensure that employment equity members are trained and developed in line with company EE plans
• Participate in the drafting of EE plans for the site
Industrial Relations
• Ensure adherence and implementation of union/management agreements
• Schedule monthly management/union meetings
• Pro per knowledge and interpretation of relevant industrial legislation
• Advise line management on IR matters in line with legislation
• Advise on disciplinary and counselling sessions on site and maintain fairness
• Build a relationship with trade union formations on site
Performance Management
• Manage performance contracting
• Advise line management on performance management
• Manage and advise on succession planning
• Advise line management on poor work performance processes
Desired Experience & Qualification
- Degree / B. Tech in Human Resources
- 5 years exp in STRONG & DYNAMIC Unionized Manfacutring Industry
- STRONG Industrial Relations exp
- Exp in PPWAWU Union would be advantage
- Knowledge of various Case Law
- Xhosa home Language and English
- Excellent computer Skills
- SAP HR a must!
