Description
Oakhill School, a co-educational day school situated in the beautiful town of Knysna, on the Garden Route, seeks to appoint a skilled and experienced Facilities Manager to oversee the efficient and effective operation of our school’s facilities.
The Facilities Manager will be responsible for managing the maintenance, safety, and security of our facilities, as well as managing the support staff and coordinating facility-related projects. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership abilities, excellent organisational skills, and a thorough understanding of facility management best practices.
Experience and qualifications for the role:
Responsibilities
- Bachelor’s Degree in Facilities Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
- Minimum of 2-3 years proven experience in Facilities Management, preferably in a leadership role.
- Previous experience working in the educational sector would be advantageous.
- Previous experience working with/maintaining sporting facilities would be advantageous.
- Understanding, knowledge and/or experience in the building industry.
- Strong knowledge of facility maintenance principles and best practices.
- Excellent organisational and multitasking skills, with the ability to prioritise and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong leadership abilities, with experience in managing a team and fostering a collaborative work environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with employees, vendors and contractors at all levels.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or equivalent Google programmes.
- An understanding of, and insight into, the BCEA and OHS Acts, with the ability to apply the required principles.
- Valid South African ID and South African Drivers licence
