We have a vacancy for:
ENGLISH TEACHER
COMMENCEMENT: 1 January 2024
We are seeking to employ a highly motivated, experienced and progressive English teacher to join our thriving Prep School. If you love the space that English teaching can be in a School and believe you can challenge, inspire and support boys, then we would like to hear from you.
We are looking for an outstanding teacher who is passionate about teaching and learning, is committed to driving student achievement and aspirations and who will show a commitment to the School’s vision and ethos. Excellent pastoral care capacity and a positive engagement with parents are also vital for the role.
A wide commitment to our School’s extra mural programme is a required component of this position
Responsibilities
Responsibilities
- Designing and organising Schemes of Work in consultation with the relevant staff
- Creating material that encourages critical thinking, student engagement and that supports students’ diverse needs
- Using a variety of delivery methods which will stimulate learning appropriate to student needs and demands
- Creating assessments to deepen teaching and learning, identify areas for intervention and provide feedback to students, staff and families in order to promote progress and outcomes
- Experience and expertise in guiding students to reach their true potential
- Experience in staging Drama productions would be an advantage
- Experience as a master Grades 6 and 7 specialist English teacher would be an advantage
- Superior planning, organisational and reporting skills
- Evaluate, reflect on, and refine teaching practice
- Excellent subject knowledge
- Being a team player who has a track record of strengthening teams of teachers
