Description
A leading manufacturer of plastic homeware products in South Africa is looking to appoint a suitable Quality Supervisor for their branch in the Northern Suburbs. The occupant is primarily responsible for ensuring production machines and production operators are producing high-quality products and work. The QA Supervisor is also responsible for managing the Quality Assurance Team.
Duties & Responsibilities

- Unlock factory staff entrances, conduct visual inspections on building (asses for break-ins or damages) and ensure equipment production readiness on Mondays and days following public holidays.
- Supervise production staff when Machine Setter Supervisor and/or Production Manager are unavailable.
- Assist with the daily scheduling of Machine Operators when Production Manager and/or Assembly Supervisor are unavailable.
- Do regular quality inspections on products on the Production Floor and at Assembly Area to enforce good quality standards.
- Collect, compare, report, and input real-time production data and job card deviations onto the company ERP System (Innov8) at least thrice daily on all workstations.
- Report substandard production or job card deviations in real-time to Production Manager and Machine Setter Supervisor and ensure that the problem is resolved before instructing the Production Operators to continue.
- Manage and take responsibility for QA Assistants.
- Keep samples of most recently produced products and store it in an efficient manner in the QA office.
- Update and complete daily production target sheets for production meetings.
- Ensure general housekeeping is adhered to in the QA office and Production Area.
- Generate new Certificate of Compliance documents for clients and maintain/complete COC’s that already exist to ensure each client receive the COC’s as and when required.
- Generate new quality alerts for quality awareness amongst all production staff and continuously update existing quality alerts with the latest information/images.
- Do Client site visit as and when required and resolve quality issues brought forward by clients.
- Take an active role in monthly stock counts.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures applicable to this role.
- General safeguarding of company and personal protective equipment.
Requirements
- Matric / Grade 12 Essential
- Quality certificate/diploma or degree advantageous
- Own car and valid license
- Fluent in Afrikaans & English
- Computer Literate
