Description
Purpose
To lead a team of Vendor Analysts in ensuring that Implats has adequate and compliant trade vendors available to enable the procurement of goods and services in a timeous manner in support of the operations
Duties & Responsibilities
Responsible for onboarding, maintenance and integration of all trade vendors through the Ariba portal to SAP ECC in line with company procedures and policies
Manage a third-party relationship and service level agreement and assist in mitigating supplier risk through vetting and resolution processes of any non-compliance, high-risk sanction and fronting risks
Play an active role in assisting with the resolution of any risk findings coming from vetting activities, administration and coordination with a supplier monitoring committee
Maintain an objective based risk assessments (ORA) risk profile for vendor management to identify and mitigate appropriate supply risks.
Continuous review and updates of the vendor management, process documents and training materials
Lead a team of vendor analysts through performance management in achieving all departmental objectives
Manage the third-party relationship in ensuring that BBBEE certificates and Sworn Affidavits are efficiently managed and recorded in Ariba to maximise procurement scores against both Mining Charter and DTI Codes of Good Practice BBBEE scorecard
Responsible for all approvals on sensitive/approvable data fields within the Ariba and SAP ECC systems
Monitor key performance areas and indicators within vendor management to ensure compliance against planned parameters resulting in business excellence, superior customer service and efficiency and effectiveness.
Build and maintain lasting relationships with key stakeholders such as suppliers, third party service providers, assurance services providers, internal and external auditors, appropriate internal process and functional managers across all the operations to establish credibility and trust within the department and procurement working environment.
Desired Experience & Qualification
Relevant NQF 6 diploma or advanced certificate or equivalent in either supply chain and/or purchasing management, logistics management, economics, business economics or managerial finance is essential
NQF 7 degree OR Advanced or professional diploma in Purchasing and Supply from the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (CIPS) would be an advantage
Minimum five (5) years’ experience within a purchasing department specifically in working with suppliers either in any form of supplier management and administration, supplier compliance management or vetting, conducting sourcing events (RFIs, RFPs, RFQs, and/or tenders), negotiating with suppliers, or awarding, finalisation and implementation of formal written contractual agreements is essential
Minimum five (5) years procurement experience within a mining related environment would be an advantage
A proven track record of any of the above procurement related activities from at least one trusted reference / source would be an advantage.
Valid Medical certificate or medically fit to obtain such a certificate
Competencies
Understand all forms of company documentation and concepts such as Companies and Intellectual Property Commission (CIPC) registration papers, tax clearance and good standing documents from South African Revenue Services (SARS), Workman’s compensation relating to Compensation for Occupational Injuries and Disease (COIDA), value added tax (VAT), BBBEE, Sworn Affidavits, company liquidations, legal entity changes, fronting risks, high-risk sanction risks
Always Comply with the relevant procedures and policies.
Understand company fraud, corruption and ethics policies.
Understanding of vendor master data and the impact on the other areas of the business
