Duties & Responsibilities

Purpose StatementCapitec's Client Experience Team (UX Team) is looking for a talented and experienced user experience designer to join our growing team. With this exciting position you will help shape our client experience across all digital platforms. Products ranging from mobile and digital payment applications, to internet banking and more.

ABOUT YOU

A top-notch user experience designer, you have a solid portfolio showing projects where you created and iterated on products based on consumer feedback. You conduct or review customer research in order to make more informed suggestions. You always think client first, however consider the big picture from concept to execution. You love working with a team on a mission and are adept at collaborating with developers, business analysts, product owners, brand, data scientists and other UX/UI designers. You love creating design experiences and have meticulous attention to detail.
You're a clear and articulate communicator. You're deliberate about your design approach, and open to feedback regarding user experience from other stake holders on various products. You thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

WHAT YOU'LL DO
Your key goal would be to support the client experience and development teams, applying design methodologies to design and develop a world-class client experience for Capitec's digital solutions.
Capitec is a South African retail bank that offers simplified, affordable and transparent banking through innovative technology. You will be joining our CX Team in the Digital Channels and Payments department, pushing innovative products while interacting with talented individuals from all backgrounds.

Desired Experience & Qualification

YOU WILL NEED

  • 3 or more years' experience in UX design for mobile devices and web
  • 5 years or more years' experience in digital
  • Proficiency in Sketch
  • Prototyping experience in InVision or something similar
  • Thorough experience in user journeys and wire-framing
  • Experience with design patterns and standards
  • Passion for interaction design and animations
  • Experience in crafting beautiful interfaces for mobile and web
  • A digital portfolio and/or links to products involved in
  • Experience collaborating with business stakeholders and developers
  • Great communication and presenting skills
  • Understanding of Google Material Design

ADVANTAGEOUS

  • Relevant tertiary education in design or user experience
  • Knowledge of psychology and/or anthropology
  • Agile software development background
  • Experience in usability testing
  • Portal and dashboard design experience to ensure the solution meets clients expectations
  • Analytics background
  • A great sense of humour
