A leading short term insurance company specializing in special risks is seeking a Cyber Underwriter to join their busy JHB team.

Underwrite all transactions assigned, within the set standards required by the company thus contributing to the productivity of the underwriting department as set out within parameters delegated to you from time to time including:

• Underwriting and risk analysis of Cyber risks

• Account Management

• Relationship Management

Cyber insurance underwriting experience with at least 3 years’ experience including: -

• Product knowledge
• Industry segmentation knowledge and applicable risk exposures
• Enquiring mind – seek out additional information in order to best understand a risk before underwriting such risk
• Underwriting procedure
• Insurance terminology
• Rating principles
• Risk Management
• Market knowledge (including competitors)
• Claims procedure
• Credit Control
• Reinsurance market, reinsurance and treaties

Qualifications:

• Business degree or equivalent IT and Cyber qualifications or studying towards
• RE and FAIS compliant
• Good knowledge of MS Office – Intermediate level (including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
• Knowledge of the Core Business Systems
• Ability to work overtime and attend functions

A market related salary is on offer based on skills and experience
