Description
Our client, based in East London, is looking for an experienced Transport Controller to join their team.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Tracking of all vehicles, including risk assessment.
- Calling Drivers every two hours to complete a verification of route.
- Sending an hourly tracking report to the Control Room.
- Managing fleet maintenance and reporting thereof.
- Providing assistance to other Branch Control Rooms, in the case of Linehaul accidents.
- Reporting any breakdowns to the Control Room.
- Analysing and completing fuel files on a daily basis.
- Requesting quotes and booking of vehicle services.
- Completing and updating the daily Services and COF report.
- Creation and maintenance of Driver personnel files.
- Completing and submission of claim forms for the Risk Department.
- Properly documenting vehicle accidents (including photos), submitting reports, and arranging repairs.
- Raising of Purchase Orders
- Keeping Manager and clients fully informed of any issues/problems on route
Desired Experience & Qualification
- Matric
- Relevant Transport/Logistics Tertiary Qualification - advantageous
- At least 3 years' experience in a similar position
- Experience working on SAP Business One
- Good knowledge of Eastern Cape routes, as well as National transport routes.
- Currently living in East London.
