My client in the electrical industry is looking for a Training Officer to join their team in Sandton.

The successful applicant will be responsible for all customer training on Variable Speed Drives, Soft Starters, Motors and Switchgear; as well as internal and induction training.

 Duties will include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Responsible for all Customers training on Variable Speed Drives, Soft Starters, Motors and Switchgear, both in Johannesburg and at the various company branches.
• The position is primarily based in Johannesburg, however there is also regular scheduled training at the branches, and at customers throughout Africa.
• Responsible for all staff training on Variable Speed, Soft Starters, Motors and Switchgear.
• Development of the new training programmes and course material.
• Accreditation of all training programmes.
• Revising and upgrading of training programmes as may be required periodically.
• Work with other departments within the company to develop and give training on other product ranges.
• Develop PLC and serial communication training.
• Keep the training facility up-to-date technically.
• Keep an up-to-date technical library of all company products and related industry standards.
• Keep up-to-date technical data of the company range of products.
• Develop and maintain a high level of technical expertise on all Automation & Drives products.
• Provide technical support for technicians and project engineers.
• All administrative aspects related to training.
• Book and finalise customer list for training.
• Manage the training programme and facilities from all aspects.
• Implementation of all the above aspects at branch level.
• Perform any other reasonable duty delegated to you for the promotion of the business.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Matric
• Relevant technical knowledge in the VSD and Soft Starter field.
• An N6/ S4 in Electrical Engineering or similar qualification
• A minimum of 2 years’ experience in a related environment
• Computer literacy – good general computer knowledge and experience as well as Windows, MS Word and Excel. (SYSPRO is an advantage)
• Valid driver’s licence.
• Must be able to read, write, speak and understand the English and Afrikaans languages fluently.
• Must be able to communicate clearly and concisely, orally and writing, including formal communications and making presentations.
