Description

Our client a global supplier to the automotive industry is currently looking to employ an experienced Tools and Equipment Program Buyer.

MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB:

  • Responsible for the sourcing of the tools, fixtures, gages, equipment and packaging for the in-house production of Exhaust Systems. Form part of the global T&E organisation, who has the task to define and execute the tooling and equipment procurement strategy, enabling successful starts of production of new projects in the plants.

THE MAIN MISSIONS OF THE ROLE ARE TO:

  • You will be involved in :
  • Preparing the sourcing strategy according to the production processes, program requirements, production footprint and worldwide supplier panel
  • Create and manage the requests for quotations to the suppliers
  • Analyze and review the supplier quotations according to the specifications together with the engineering and program teams
  • Conduct the negotiations with the suppliers to reach the timing, cost, quality and technical requirements of the programs
  • Lead the supplier nomination process according to the Faurecia Core Procedures
  • Manage the creation of the purchase orders in the ERP systems
  • Follow and track the performance of the suppliers after award
  • Follow and negotiate the modifications and engineering changes during the development and serial phases, ensure the respect of quality, budget and delivery deadlines
  • Ensure that the program phase reviews are supported within the framework of the Program Management System (PMS).
  • Identify new suppliers to support the region
  • Manage supplier audits
  • Implement cost model/standard contracts

 

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

The ideal candidate will have/be:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with a professional experience / specialisation in international purchasing or commercial education with an additional technical background
  • Minimum 3 years of experience as a Buyer in an industrial environment for the automotive branch
  • Results oriented with strong written and oral communications skills
  • Ability to work autonomous in a matrix organisation
  • International mind set, overseas experience is a plus
  • Negotiating skills and assertiveness
  • Good Knowledge of MS Office tools and SAP R/3 M
  • Product and components knowledge to support negotiation
