Duties & Responsibilities
- Oversee the "Administration Team" / Stops Clerks
- Receive Inbound Manifest for the day
- Allocate consignment printing
- Allocate and assist in file registration
- Allocate and assist in OGA printing, batching and submission
- EDI Submissions and Queries
- Book inspections for stopped /Detained cargo (OGA)
- Maintain a register of all stop shipment files handled daily
- Resolve customer requests by taking ownership of calls related to Customs Stops.
- Continued follow ups on existing queries until resolved
- Where needed consult with entry clerks, Operations Teams or other Customer Service Teams
- Communicates OGA requirements feedback to relevant team members and clients
- Resolve and update all Customs Stop shipments (OGA)
- Liaise with customers for any documentation required by OGA in the Stop intervention process
- Doing follow ups on all inspected cargo and giving feedback to clients timeously
- Advising customers on progress and process of shipments under detention
- Ensure that all detained cargo is kept in the relevant areas pending inspections and finalization
- Arrange special attendances with customs from express commodities
- Provide professional service to customers at all times
- Handle escalated queries from branches, agents, clients and international offices/partners
- Full resolution of all OGA queries in the most efficient time
- Build effective relationships with customs /customers and customs leasing Agents
Desired Experience & Qualification
- Matric/Grade 12 Non-negotiable
- Diploma or similar qualifications would be advantageous
- Must have sound knowledge of Customs Act, Process and procedures
- Excellent communication skills (Verbal and Written)
- Planning organising and time management
- Customer orientated
