Description
Our client, a large law firm in Sandton, has an exciting opportunity for a Legal Secretary in their Tax Department. The departments special areas of expertise include the Tax aspects of Commercial activities such as Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A); Private Equity and black economic empowerment transactions; and corporate re-organisations
Duties & Responsibilities
- Preparing pre-bills and billing memos (sending same to clients)
- Strong administration and organisational skills in order to manage professionals practices (diary management, answering telephone calls and tracking messages in the absence of the professionals)
- Typing a wide range of documents (legal opinions, etc.)
- Incorporating amendments to documents
- Preparing resource and client files
- General office and personal administration
- Managing debtors with the accounts department
- FICA administration: following up to ensure the FICA requirements are complete
Desired Experience & Qualification
- More than 3 years experience as a secretary (experience in a Tax team would be advantageous)
- Excellent knowledge of MS Suite (Word 2010, Powerpoint and Excel)
- Knowledge on Aderant Expert (CMS) accounting system – Advantageous
- Knowledge on FileSite – Advantageous
- Secretarial diploma (advantageous)
- Matric essential
