Our client, a large law firm in Sandton, has an exciting opportunity for a Legal Secretary in their Tax Department. The departments special areas of expertise include the Tax aspects of Commercial activities such as Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A); Private Equity and black economic empowerment transactions; and corporate re-organisations

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Preparing pre-bills and billing memos (sending same to clients)
  • Strong administration and organisational skills in order to manage professionals practices (diary management, answering telephone calls and tracking messages in the absence of the professionals)
  • Typing a wide range of documents (legal opinions, etc.)
  • Incorporating amendments to documents
  • Preparing resource and client files
  • General office and personal administration
  • Managing debtors with the accounts department
  • FICA administration: following up to ensure the FICA requirements are complete

 

Desired Experience & Qualification

  • More than 3 years experience as a secretary (experience in a Tax team would be advantageous)
  • Excellent knowledge of MS Suite (Word 2010, Powerpoint and Excel)
  • Knowledge on Aderant Expert (CMS) accounting system – Advantageous
  • Knowledge on FileSite – Advantageous
  • Secretarial diploma (advantageous)
  • Matric essential
