Description

The purpose of this role is to manage and develop the Engineering & Maintenance teams and resources to develop, evaluate, design, procure, install and commission equipment that meet the requirements and objectives of engineering projects that support the Food Supply strategy whilst ensuring conformance to legislation and Company Standards.

This role also provides a clear vision and leadership with a view to delivering a first class service to the operations teams.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Member of the  Operations  Leadership Team
  • Excellence in talent management by managing and developing technical resources for the site including line management excellence to the technical team and develop internally technical competences (mechanical, electrical & control, ways of working)
  • Conduct regular Engagement sessions with the team, to ensure key issues are identified and followed through with clear Action plans to resolve and drive Team Engagement.
  • Excellence in maintenance execution : maximise assets reliability at the best cost
  • Efficient, cost effective and fit for purpose preventive maintenance to guarantee high asset safety, reliability and life cycle
  • Efficient curative maintenance & operations support to maximise TRS and outputs
  • Lead on technical continuous improvement programs in close collaboration with operations & other departments
  • Provide expertise and technical support to the site as the "preferred supplier"
  • Action oriented / result driven maintenance program
  • Excellence in site engineering projects execution : Deliver projects results and execute them as per engineering "best practice"
  • Deliver projects benefits/scope, on time and within budget as agreed up front with internal customer(s) and in pro-active compliance with safety, Food safety, quality  and all company standards
  • Providing instruction, supervision, training and information to ensure safe working conditions; ensuring deployment of and adherence to company safety and environmental policies, procedures and corporate standards (inc. hazard identification, risk assessment, incident reporting),  and responsible for the health and safety of all reports, contractors and members of the public.
  • Lead the Site SiG Program  in collaboration with other functions leveraging Global Learnings

Contracted work

  • Control, evaluate and coordinate all contracted work to be done on equipment or assets of the company

 

Wiring and Layout diagrams

  • Manage  the update of records for changes to electrical diagrams, equipment layout diagrams or any changes to any routing diagram of all services and equipment on the site
  • Manage the maintenance of updating  cable markings, circuit breaker identifications etc. to be the latest revised version of the actual installation
  • Maintain, service and clean all electrical distribution centres to ensure clear access to all identification markings

 

Leading the Engineering and Maintenance Team

  • Build a winning team of engaged associates by providing direction and focus and developing Talent and  embracing  and living the 5 Principles
  • 10 Direct Reports

Desired Experience & Qualification

Education & Professional Qualification

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification   in Engineering (Mechanical) or other  relevant Engineering qualification

Knowledge/Experience

  • 5 - 10 years FMCG experience with experience in a senior leadership role
  • Strong experience and knowledge of  Machinery in a food Factory or FMCG Environment 5 Years’ Experience with Managing and Leading teams
