Description
Our client based in the Eastern Cape (Ugie) is seeking to employ a Silviculture Manager to join their team.
Duties & Responsibilities
Job description:
- Managing landholdings of 76,000 Ha (33 700 Ha is planted) on a sustainable basis
- Managing a large commercial heard of livestock to productivity
- Budgeting and cost control
- Planning and organising work to maximise efficiency and productivity
- Effective and efficient management of people and service providers
- Instilling environmental and conservation legislation compliance
- Cost effective estalishment, tending and fire protection
- Maintaining database integrity
- Safety/risk/ FSC Compliance
- TUP Management
- Active participation in provincial and local FPA structures
Job Requirements:
- B.Sc / B-Tech in Forestry Management a pre-requisite, Business or Management related qualification will be advantage
- At least 15 years experience in silviculture activities, in a FSC certified environment
- 5 years of which must be at a managerial level (Silviculture)
- knowledge and experience of mechanisation in forestry to be demonstrated
Recommended skills, knowledge and qualities:
- Extensive experience in firefightig
- Vaild drivers license
- knowledge of FSC & SHEQ Principles and procedures
