Description
Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates to fill the position of Shift Supervisor Mining, to be based at Dishaba Mine near Thabazimbi, Limpopo. The successful candidate will report to the Mine Overseer
Duties & Responsibilities
Suitable candidates must have the following work experience:
- At least three-year experience as a Shift Supervisor
- Experience in underground construction pertaining to Transfer chutes, tips, conveyor belts, rails and box fronts will be advantageous
- 3 years’ experience in Shaft or Ore-Pass rehabilitation will be advantageous
- Knowledge of SHEQ standard and requirements
- Resourceful problem solver who can work within agree parameters
The successful candidate will be responsible for, but not be limited to:
- Safe achievement of production and quality targets in line with DMR, MRC and client requirements
- Accurate, timely administration and record keeping
- Competent, motivated and positive team
- Stakeholder engagement
- Section compliance with SHEQ and MRC, and client standards, policies and procedures
- Cost containment
- Effective self-management and alignment with MRC values and leadership initiatives
Desired Experience & Qualification
Suitable candidates must possess the following minimum qualifications and skills:
- Grade 12 or NQF 4 equivalent
- Blasting Certificate of competency
- Recognized Shift Supervisor Certificate
- Valid First Aid Certificate
- Medical Certificate of Fitness
- Team leadership skills
- Sound planning, co-ordination and monitoring skills
- Good communication skills in English
