Usually, I try to focus on what I believe is A calibre work which to my mind means bleeding-edge tech. This job isn’t that but it’s A calibre work and a hidden gem.

This is a big name multinational who have driven all of their software development work to SA. They’re global, they’re stable and they’re involved in some massive tech work.

It’s especially good if you prefer digging through code, finding the bugs and fixing them. It suits the person who is less concerned with what tech is being used and more concerned with how the software is built.

It’s paying incredibly good rates, in a business that is consistently renewing peoples contracts (we have developers there, who have been there for years). It’s also a great location for you if you dread Buccleuch on your way to Sandton in the morning, or live just the other side of the interchange and fancy travelling against traffic.

I can achieve somewhere between R500 and R650 per hour for you if you:

• Are an experienced developer with at least five years (preferably closer to 10) coding experience
• Have a solid grasp of C#, with knowledge of versions 3.5 through 4.5
• You’ll need at least good ASP.NET skills as it’s all web-based
• Ideally a smattering of WinForms with solid MVC
• You will absolutely need to have solid T-SQL skills
• The core work is SQL Server 2005 and 2008. Newer SQL knowledge will help you
• A solid foundation in HTML 5 and Javascript would also be necessary
