Description
Duties & Responsibilities
KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:
Develop work procedures and policies aligned with OHSA, SANS and other relevant acts such as BCEA and LRA as well as all organisational policies and standards
Maintain ISO systems and accreditation (ISO14001, 45001, 31001)
Develop, schedule, and implement risk assessments
Conduct accident investigations and reporting of injuries and incidents
Compile and implement an emergency preparedness plan, including commuincations with all stakeholders, external service providers and authorities (DEL, SAP. Fire and Emergency services, disaster management, etc)
Compile and ensure implementation of a contractor’s control program and project -based health and safety programs
Compile HSE monthly reports
Implement awarness programmes to promote health and safety in the workplace
Managing onsite service providers and contractors( Security,Fire Fighting Systems, Hygiene, Cleaning and Pest Control, Waste Management, Gardening Services
Develop and control an annual HSE budget and develop capitial expenditure for risk reduction projects
Conduct internal audits: Operational HSE Process and Procedures, Insurance Risk Exposure Assessments, ISO Standards, Contractor Compliance
Desired Experience & Qualification
Experience Requirements
A minimum of 5 years’ working experience in a large manufacturing environment in a supervisory or management level
At least 10 years’ general health and safety experience in a large sized organisation as a Risk Control Practitioner/HSE Officer, preferably in a Major Hazard Installation Facility
