Description
My Client who specialises in Freight Forwarding is urgently seeking a Senior Operations Controller. They will be responsible for managing a team of Operations Controllers; and as a collective, ensure across the board client satisfaction, flawless execution of road transport transactions from order receipt to successful delivery. The Senior Operations Controller must further contribute to meeting Company key performance measurements.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Receive and process transport orders.
- Plan, expedite and monitor loads.
- Adhere to client expectations, i.e. load and offload times, load instructions and regular feedback.
- Daily measurement of key performance indicators (KPIs) in accordance with client and/or Company’s expectations; report on same when required.
- Build and manage service-driven and professional relationships with key stakeholders, i.e. at clients, warehouses, loading points, delivery points and suppliers.
- Ensure that all loads are adequately insured and that high-value loads are monitored from time of loading to delivery.
- Ensure that the Transport Management System is updated at all times; reconcile PODs; record and investigate in-transit claims; and control CHEP pallets per the set process and procedure.
- Constantly strive to improve KPIs and performance through formal continuous improvements.
Desired Experience & Qualification
- Matric
- A tertiary qualification in Logistics/ Logistics Management will be an advantage
- A minimum of 5 years working experience in a similar role, preferably in Logistics and Supply Chain.
- Microsoft Office suite proficiency - more specifically Outlook, Excel and Word.
- Well versed in e-mail etiquette and with good writing skills.
- Experience with Datatim TMS will be advantageous.
- MUST BE FLUENT IN AFRIKAANS!!!
