Description

Potentiam are looking for a Senior Marketing Analyst to create valuable actionable insights and marketing campaigns that drive return on investment for the clients, leading a small team of Marketing Analysts to achieve this.

 

NOTE: this role is based in Cape Town. UK hours will apply!

Duties & Responsibilities

Team Leadership & Outputs:

 

  • Provide leadership through training and mentoring Marketing Analysts
  • Monitor and manage all analytical work completed by Marketing Analysts. Ensure all analysis and campaign activity is:
    • Completed in a timely manner
    • In-line with agreed brief’s / timescales and quality standards
    • Accurate and subject to a vigorous QC process
    • Actionable and strategically focused
    • Supported by detailed interpretation which provides strategic guidance
    • Take the insight to the “so what” and “how this creates value”
    • Goes further than what the client says they want to provide what they need to create value
  • Manage Marketing Analysts to ensure they are performing to required standards of quality, speed and accuracy
  • Ensure all Marketing Analysts:
    • Understand, embrace and follow the organisation's approach to data marketing and client management
    • Create and follow client specific operational manuals
    • Maintain a level of service which ensures we do not lose a client due to inferior service or Account Management
  • Ensure all activity completed by the Marketing Analysts is accurately recorded within organisation's time commitments database on a daily basis
  • Take responsibility for all reporting which relates to utilisation levels and general team KPI’s

 

Client Facing Responsibilities:

 

  • Act as a point of reference for Clients to discuss technical database orientated questions
  • Develop and enhance the range and scope of analytical / segmentation techniques and services offered to organisation's clients

 

Internal Responsibilities:

 

  • Working with the Account Manager / Senior Analytical Team Leader, help schedule resource and prioritise activity to ensure utilisation levels are maximised and project timescales are adhered to
  • Track and maintain accuracy and integrity of all data contained within each client database
  • You may be required you to carry out other duties within your reasonable competence.

 

At certain times, it may be necessary to work outside normal office hours to deliver to agreed deadlines

Desired Experience & Qualification

Prerequisites & Experience:

  • 2+ years’ experience in a Database Marketing or Analytics environment (client or service side)
  • Good data analysis and interpretation skills
  • Strong experience of MS Access or SQL Management Studio

 

Technical Skills:

  • Strong experience of MS Access or SQL Management Studio
  • Excellent knowledge of MS Excel – pivots, charts / graphs, use of standard functions (v look up’s etc)
  • Knowledge of IBM Modeller or SAS

 

Managerial Skills:

  • Day-to-day team management
  • Strong team player; leadership skills; influencing skills

 

Professional Skills:

  • Written and presentation skills
  • Strong initiative
